In places, you will applaud and whistle. But you might also find yourself utterly exhausted. Still, as the girl in Dangal so memorably put it: Shah Rukh ko na nahi bolte.
Paap lagta hai. It takes recourse to subtle sleights of new- age style to compensate for what it lacks in terms of thematic essence and narrative pace. It makes a fair fist of the palpably onerous task. Shah Rukh shrugs off his defining starry mannerisms, embraces physical attributes and accessories designed to convey an air of to- hell- with- the- world insouciance, and becomes an effective anchor for a film that hinges overly on his box office clout to carry it across the finishing line.

Raees is a typical ’8. Disturbingly, like commercial cinema from that period, the moral compass is a bit off Yet, the problem is fundamental: the writing is shoddy and unoriginal. And by the time it wades into certain true events, it is left with too little time and meaning. Raees perhaps works only as an SRK showcase. But we’ve seen many of those already. But the second half plunges into a weird Robin Hood zone where the antihero’s morals are suddenly defibrillated and he becomes a messiah. The movie takes a rough path there on, and the long runtime makes the ride bumpier.
The movie can feel a bit long, but if you’re going for a great Shah Rukh performance and some good ol’ popcorn- entertainment, it might just . The film shifts from politics, to romance and action seamlessly, thus keeping a Bollywood fan entertained.
Raees is a paisa- wasool entertainer for massy Bollywood fans! A 3. 5/5 for this one. Suspense Thriller Movies Il Boom (2017). Raees is certainly a one- time watch. With Shah Rukh Khan in lead, many may not need me telling them to watch it.
Also, Nawaz is a complete show- stealer here! While the ending might seem a bit stretched to some audiences, Shahrukh will still manage to pull at your heart- strings. It’s just the run- of- the- mill . Strongly recommended for Shah Rukh Khan fans. The film explores how Raees' relationships and meteoric rise helped him build an entire empire from scratch, to make him the single most powerful man in the state. Less of a gangster but more of an impresario, Raees gains popularity, a cult following and most importantly the public's trust by demonstrating entrepreneurial flair, unfettered determination to achieving his goals and ironically a heart of gold. His layered character traits encapsulate an inimitable blend of personas, making him revered, loved and feared. Always thinking ahead of the curve and using revolutionary ideas of management which were unheard of during his time, but are now doctrines for students, Raees eliminates every opposition that comes his way. However, his downfall will be crossing paths with the no- nonsense police officer Majumdar, whose sole reason for existence is the elimination of crime.
What ensues next is a tumultuous battle between the two, which forms a key defining element of the film's narrative.
